It is a true honor to welcome you to the CUPT-CRISU Collaboration Seminar 2025, hosted by Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK). This seminar represents an important milestone in advancing academic collaboration between the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT) and the Council of Rector of Indonesia State University (CRISU).
Our shared commitment to strengthening higher education partnerships provides a powerful foundation for addressing pressing regional challenges, particularly in areas such as food security, sustainable development, and industrial innovation. By bringing together university leaders, researchers, and practitioners from both countries, this dialogue offers an opportunity to co-create solutions that extend beyond our institutions and generate meaningful societal impact.
I am confident that this gathering will inspire long-term partnerships, knowledge exchange, and joint initiatives that elevate our regional capacity for innovation and inclusive growth. Let us work together to translate collaboration into impact, both for our universities and for the communities we serve.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Eduart Wolok., ST., MT

It is a great pleasure to welcome all of you to the 16th CUPT-CRISU Conference 2025 in IKN, “Ibu Kota Nusantara”, the new capital city of Indonesia, and hosted by a consortium of universities in Borneo Island, lead by Institute of Technology Kalimantan. This event shows the sustainability of our commitment to enhance a significant collaboration between Thai - Indonesia universities facing the dynamic and uncertainty of global academic challenges. The theme of the conference is “Collaborative Innovation for Impact; Strengthening Food Security and Industrial Downstreaming through Higher Education Partnerships”. The theme is inspired by the Indonesia government strategic program focused on food security under the uncertainty of global geopolitical challenge and enhancing economic growth through industrial downstreaming strategy.
We believe that university will be a key point of success to support the program under a partnership on research and development between two countries. Thai and Indonesian universities have had a long historical collaboration aimed at fostering academic and research excellence through expertise, shared experiences and collaboration.
In the other part of the conference we will continue to strengthen our commitment through high level meetings, dean and student forum on Environment Social and (ESG) issues. The forum will facilitate joint research projects, faculty and hange, fostering a dynamic environment to strengthen collaborative framework on ESG projects in universities of both countries.
Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Agus Rubiyanto, M.Eng.Sc
Rector, Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK)
It is with immense pleasure that I extend a warm welcome to you all in East Kalimantan for the 2025 CUPT–CRISU Meeting. As the Rector of ITK and a proud member of the Council of Professors of Indonesian Legal Entity State Universities, I hold a firm belief in the power of knowledge sharing to foster educational equity across our nations.
At ITK, our journey of development is meticulously guided by five core principles: Internal Enhancement, Innovation Action, International Collaboration, Spiritual Dedication, and Environmental Insight. Our strategic roadmap, which spans from cultivating a culture of excellence to championing innovation, vividly underscores our unwavering commitment to evolving into a preeminent institution in close proximity to Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara.
Nestled amidst the verdant embrace of Borneo's forests, ITK boasts not only a unique geographical placement but also a distinct advantage in cultivating impactful talent, not just for Indonesia but for the global community.
